Elena Hilton is a Director at Mission Partners, where she guides clients toward achieving their greatest impact through strategic communications. Elena brings with her a varied background in digital media publishing, journalism, content strategy, strategic planning, and public affairs campaigns—all informed by a diligent approach to project management.
Elena specializes in guiding organizations across the pro-democracy field, spending most of her time counseling organizations that work to address mis- and disinformation, expand access to local news, and protect free and fair elections. Elena brings a deep knowledge of the intersection between the challenges facing news organizations and the threats to our democracy. Since joining Mission Partners in 2019, she has counseled clients such as NewsMatch, Rebuild Local News, American Press Institute, Democracy Fund, the Center for Cooperative Media, and Trusted Elections Fund through a variety of milestone moments.
Prior to her time at Mission Partners, Elena was part of the editorial team for Esquire at Hearst Magazines and continues to stay involved with the media industry as a freelance writer. Her work has been published in Glamour, NBC News, Teen Vogue, Rolling Stone, and InStyle, among other publications.
In addition to her client base in the democracy and information fields, Elena has worked with clients across children’s health and development, affordable housing, and community support services.
Elena graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications with a focus on digital media and business management. She resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA.
