Carrie Fox Named WWPR’s 2026 Woman of the Year

At Mission Partners, we’re proud to share that Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) has named our founder and CEO, Carrie Fox, its 2026 Woman of the Year. This recognition reflects who our team sees every day: a leader who invests in people, lifts others up, and never stops asking how we can do more good.

Natalie Adler, WWPR’s 2025 Woman of the Year, presented the award on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the organization’s 37th annual Woman of the Year celebration at The Potomac Hotel in Washington, D.C. Established in 1990, the Woman of the Year Award recognizes senior-level communicators in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area who have demonstrated exceptional industry leadership, integrity, and mentorship.

WWPR’s Advisory Board selected three finalists: Carrie; Dr. Sheila Brooks, founder, president, and CEO of SRB Communications; and Shakirah A. Hill Taylor, head of innovation and chief digital officer at Fenton.

“My mom raised me to leave the world better than I found it. The idea of leaving it better than I found it has become the basis of the business that I built,” Carrie shared in her acceptance remarks.

She closed by reflecting on what WWPR has meant to her: “None of my successes are mine alone. My successes come from what we have learned and built together. WWPR has been part of my professional journey for nearly 20 years. It has been a source of community, of learning, of opportunity, and of purpose.”

Chief Impact Officer Liz Ott, who attended the celebration, said: “Carrie’s acceptance speech was an incredibly moving moment and a reflection of who she is as a leader. Rather than focus on her own accomplishments, she used her time on stage to honor her fellow finalists by sharing their journeys and the impact of their work. She also recognized the WWPR board, volunteers, and leaders in the room. That’s how she leads every day at Mission Partners.”

We're grateful to WWPR for this honor and for its commitment to advancing women in communications. Please join us in congratulating Carrie. As always, thank you for your partnership and trust in Mission Partners. Together we will be a force for good.
