Focus Area

Education + Technology

We promote access to education and skills training and support open, accountable technology systems that foster healthy and equitable outcomes.

WHY IT MATTERS TO US

Education is one of the most powerful tools a person can have to build a better life: for themselves and their families.

We help people gain access to the skills they need to be ready for the work ahead. And we know technology can be one of our greatest tools and greatest risks. We work to support open, accountable technology systems that power healthy and equitable outcomes for all.

The Universities at Shady Grove

The Universities at Shady Grove is an innovative shared campus for nine of Maryland’s top public universities, and a national leader in accessible higher education. For this groundbreaking institution, we powered a defining moment: the grand opening of a $175M biomedical sciences and engineering facility. We managed all communications, media, and project complexities for the building’s opening, as well as a same-day STEMM showcase spanning 14 academic programs and 8 industry partners. Together, we exceeded the attendance goal by 20% and earned 7.8M media impressions, including front-page Washington Post Metro coverage. Our earlier “Power of 9” integrated marketing campaign laid the foundation for this event and was built on alumni stories that drove philanthropic support and consumer interest in the unique higher education institution.
