Elena Hilton is a Manager at Mission Partners, where she guides clients toward achieving their greatest impact through strategic communications. Elena brings with her a varied background in digital media publishing, journalism, content strategy, strategic planning, and public affairs campaigns—all informed by a diligent approach to project management.
In her work across Mission Partners’ journalism portfolio, Elena applies her deep knowledge of the challenges facing local and community-based news organizations, as well as her expertise on the impact news and information have on our democracy. Since 2019, she has counseled clients such as NewsMatch, Rebuild Local News, American Press Institute, The Fund for Equity in Local News, the Center for Cooperative Media, and Democracy Fund’s Public Square program through a variety of milestone moments.
Before joining Mission Partners in 2019, Elena was part of the editorial team for Esquire at Hearst Magazines and continues to stay involved with the journalism industry as a freelance writer and reporter. Her work has been published in Glamour, NBC News, Teen Vogue, Rolling Stone, and InStyle, among other publications.
In addition to her client base in the news and information sector, Elena supports clients that are concerned with equitable democratic processes, reimagining the philanthropy sector, and children’s health.
Elena graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications with a focus on digital media and business management. She resides in Bethesda, MD.
