Pronouns: she/her/hers
Mollie Binderman recently joined the Mission Partners team as a Social Impact Communications Fellow. At the heart of her work is a belief that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and have equitable access to opportunities and resources.
Mollie is a rising senior at the University of Maryland, where she studies Communication with an emphasis in Political Communication and Advocacy, along with a minor in Nonprofit Management.
Mollie’s family inspired her interest in social impact work, as they all have a deep interest in helping their communities. As she grew older, she began getting more curious about what actually motivates people in organizations. Mollie has since held a range of different positions working directly with nonprofit teams, providing support in communications, programming, and outreach. Through these experiences, she has come to understand that much of the successful work that nonprofits accomplish is a matter of building trust with their audience, communicating clearly, and understanding who they are speaking to.
Mollie appreciates work that involves both storytelling and mobilizing supporters. Through her academics and past leadership experiences, Mollie has come to value the importance of messaging in movement building. As a fellow, she is excited to continue to be inspired by the work of industry experts, strengthen her approach to communications strategy, and apply her skills in an area where it will make a real difference.
Following her graduation from UMD, Mollie hopes to pursue a career in nonprofit or social impact communications. Outside of work and school, she is most likely found traveling, testing out a new recipe, reading, or searching for the perfect iced latte and cup of frozen yogurt.
