Our commitment to invest in Black- and women*-led organizations.

At Mission Partners, we believe communication is one of the most powerful tools to advance social change. And communication, as we know well, is more than words. We acknowledge our privilege and advantage as a white, cis-gender woman-owned company and B Corporation™, and believe our highest responsibility is to use our influence and capital to shift and disrupt white dominant norms and false, toxic narratives. In 2020, we set out to deepen the impact of our work through a public commitment to invest $2.5M in Black- and women*-led organizations over five years—two groups that we saw disproportionately impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through a mix of pro bono support, capital investments, nonprofit donations, and our Social Entrepreneur in Residence program, we are humbled to share that we exceeded our goal, with a total of $2.86M of Mission Partners’ resources distributed from June 2020 to December 2025: $2.18M distributed directly to vendors with whom we partner, $650,000 distributed in pro bono resources, and $30,000 distributed as direct donations to nonprofits.

Being small has never stopped us from being mighty. And now is not a time to stop or pull back from our commitment to use business—and communication—as a force for good. So, while these days bring a host of new challenges, they also bring reasons for hope, connection, and community.

We will continue to invest our resources in leaders and organizations that are most impacted by these times, doing all we can, with all we have, to move missions forward.

*We belong to, support and celebrate a broad community spanning a spectrum of gender identities, including cis-gender, transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people.

Shifting Capital and Leveraging our Purchasing Power

For lasting change, the way we spend our money will always align with our values. Approximately 60% of our commitment will come in the form of financial capital. Through direct investments, grants, sponsorships, vendor investments, and purchases, we will honor our commitment to supporting Black- and women-led organizations. We don’t invest even a single dollar in Facebook ads, and instead prioritize investments in Black-owned media. We require our vendors to take annual surveys to ensure alignment with our values. There’s a reason we are proud of our role in the B Corp™ community, and we take seriously our role to contribute to a radically inclusive and richly regenerative environment.

As a part of Mission Partners’ investment in our community, we recently announced our commitment to supporting Generation Hope through a three-year investment. Learn more.

A Commitment to the Future of our Sector

Among the top U.S. firms, as ranked by revenue in PRWeek’s Agency Business Report, there is an abysmally small number of Black PR professionals in their top leadership echelons. Only 8% of agency leadership identifies as Black, while 89.8% identify as white. Mission Partners’ Social Entrepreneur in Residence is a breakthrough program that combines a no-strings attached financial investment in a Black-led communications firm, with eighteen months of intensive executive coaching, management, and support to help high-impact leaders scale their business models, while helping to shape the future of our industry.

Mission Partners’ Social Entrepreneur in Residence program was recently featured in Inc. Magazine. Read more.
