Association of Children’s Museums


The Association of Children’s Museums’ Board of Directors was inspired to build a set of standards for high-quality children’s museums to combat misconceptions about children’s museums and to ensure every experience within a children’s museum is exceptional. To help achieve this goal, Mission Partners utilized a multi-phase research solution to evaluate the needs and interests of the Association of Children’s Museums’ members, which included a landscape audit, focus groups, in-depth interviews and culminated in a comprehensive recommendations recap report on how the board should proceed with this process. When the COVID-19 crisis began—toward the end of this research—the children’s museum industry was strongly impacted and the need for the Association of Children’s Museums to create high-quality standards became even higher on the association’s priority list.
